Obituary for Kenton Shoemaker Kenton Deane Shoemaker, 88, of Asheville, passed away into the light on August 20, 2018. Mr. Shoemaker was born January 31, 1930 in Michigan. He lived in Goldsboro most of his life and Asheville for the past 15 years.

Deane retired from AT&T with over 30 years of service and he was a member of Goldsboro-Adamsville Methodist Church. He enjoyed singing, gardening, and tending to his over 200 rose bushes. Deane is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Shoemaker; and wife, Jackie Shoemaker; and beloved kitty, Luke The Duke.

He is survived by his daughter, Renae Shoemaker; sons, Randy Shoemaker and Barry Shoemaker; and grandchildren, Allison and Eric Shoemaker. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at 3:00pm at Daniels Memorial Methodist Church, 2802 East Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
