Obituary for Frankie Ross Frankie Ross, 77, passed away December 25, 2018. Born in Ninety Six, SC, he was the youngest of 6 children. Along with his high school sweetheart/former wife Judy Ross, he raised and is survived by his 3 children – Rodney Ross, Michelle Ross Haglan (JD) & Ginger Ross Galu (Victor).

Blessed with 5 awesome grandchildren, Wesley Ross, Ross and Zane Haglan, and Sophia and Aidan Galu, he was also a proud uncle to an abundance of nieces and nephews. He is survived by a brother, David (Toni) Ross; two sisters, Jean Gilmer and Carole Putnam; and brother-in-law, Bo Chrisley. He was predeceased by his mother, Hazel Medlin; his father, Fred Ross; siblings, Joan Chrisley and Buddy Ross, and in-laws, Maxie Putnam and Richard Gilmer.

Following high school in Calhoun Falls, SC, a textile career moved him throughout SC and NC, ending with nearly 30 years as Plant Engineer of the former Beacon Mfg. of Swannanoa. He designed/patented equipment and later owned a mechanical/electrical business prior to retirement.

He enjoyed writing songs and was self-taught in playing several instruments, once selected in the 1980s to audition for a Nashville music show competition. He lettered in 3 high school sports, played tennis leagues with his family and softball on company teams, before becoming an avid golfer, a passion that remained with him through the rest of his life. To meet him was to meet a new friend and he made them from all walks of life.

The last 4 years he exemplified grace under fire. Hallmarks of his life were steadfast friendships, a close-knit family, loving church home and the devotion of many dogs, the last his beloved Chloe. He came into the presence of the Lord on Christmas morning.

Family and friends will be received at Noon on Saturday, December 29 at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church in Fairview, NC with a service to follow at 1:00pm Donations can be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043, or find a rescue dog to make a new home.
