Obituary for Bernice Gragg Gilliam Bernice Gragg Gilliam, 87, of Black Mountain, passed away December 20, 2018. Mrs. Gilliam was born December 31, 1930 in Andrews, NC to the late Paul James Gragg and Annie Laura Ammons Gragg. She has lived in Black Mountain most of her life.

Bernice was a former employee of Kearfott and retired from the Black Mountain Water Department, and she attended Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Gilliam; sister, Geri Chandler; and special niece, Paula Ann Chandler. Bernice is survived by her son, Stan Gilliam (Diane); grandson, Keith Gilliam (Debbie); granddaughter, Kelly Laughter (Shane); grandson, Brandon Moore (Lindsay); great grandchildren, Katy Tracy (James), Tyler Coon, Kyle Gilliam, Kendall Gilliam, and Kayson Moore; and great-great granddaughter, Klaire Ann Tracy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 3:00pm at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Swannanoa with Rev. Frank Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
