Obituary for Carolanna Johnson Kreisel On Tuesday, January 1, 2019, Carolanna Johnson Kreisel, loving wife and mother, passed away in Asheville, NC at the age of 86. Carolanna was born on February 23, 1932 in Syracuse, NY to Howard and Retha (Blakeman) Johnson. She attended Cortland State Teachers College and worked in the insurance industry until her marriage to Harold Dean Kreisel on September 6, 1958.

They raised two daughters, Deanna and Lori, and a succession of tiny toy poodles. Carol was an avid tennis player throughout her life, and she also enjoyed snow skiing, golf, and reading. She and her family lived in several places, mostly notably Newton Square, PA, Hilton Head, SC and Asheville.

She maintained a crackingly sharp sense of humor, and never missed an opportunity to go for the laugh. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Hal, and is survived by one of her two sisters, Bernice Welch of New London, NH. Also still kicking are her two daughters, her son-in-law, Scott MacKenzie, and her grandson, Duncan Horvath.
