Obituary for Clarence Gardner Ogle Clarence Ogle, 86, of Swannanoa passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018. Mr. Ogle was born July 3, 1932 in Yancey County to the late John and Lizzie Gardner Ogle. He attended Grove Stone Baptist Church and was an avid race car driver participating in the first race at Asheville Speedway.

With his love of racing, he was serving as Crew Chief up until the last race at Asheville Speedway. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Madge, Ethel and Edith and brothers, William, Alfred, Carmon, John and Philip. Clarence is survived by his wife, Ruth Button Ogle; children, Nick (Deniece), Larry (Debbie), Susan (Steve), Linda, and Bryan (Patti) Ogle; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and sister-in law, Clara Mae Ogle.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 6:30pm at Grove Stone Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Long officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
