Erwin’s Obituary Erwin Ray Ranly, 88 of Wallis, Texas, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed from this life on February 2, 2019. Erwin was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 20, 1930 to Raymond and Emma (Ordner) Ranly who preceded him in death. Erwin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane Ranly; son Malcom and his wife Linda; grandchildren Austin and Alisa; sisters, Margie Zgarba of Danbury, Texas and Laverne Pousson of Meridian, Idaho as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Erwin is preceded in death by his son, Marcus, his sister Elvira Ranly and brother Leon Ranly. Erwin moved to Galveston, Texas in 1941, before moving to Danbury, Texas in 1947. In 1951 he was drafted in the Army and was stationed in Augsberg, Germany with the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment where he was a Tank mechanic and in command of his Tank retrieval and recovery unit.

In 1953 he was honorably discharged from the Army and went to work for a drilling company in the oilfield. In 1955 he married his beautiful wife Jane. In 1956 he went to work at Duval Corp for 17 years in the Sulpher field and as plant operator.

In 1973 he went to work for WKM Valve Corporation an Oil Well services company which was later sold to Cooper Cameron where he retired in 1999 after 26 years of service. In his spare time Erwin loved to do gardening and carpentry projects. Erwin was a member of the Wallis American Legion Post 200, Wallis Knights of Columbus, and served as an usher at Guardian Angel Catholic Church.

He was known by friends and family for his kindness and generosity to help others and he loved to spend time with his family.
