Erylon’s Obituary Erylon F. McGirt, 79, passed away at 1:10 pm Friday, January 18, 2019 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born July 10, 1939 in Lumberton, NC to the late Ernest McGirt and Stella (Hatcher) McGirt Dayringer. He graduated from Clyde High School in Clyde, OH in 1958.

From October 24, 1960 until October 23, 1963 he served in the US Army. Erylon married Marcella Reyna on May 29, 1965 and she survives. He worked as a foreman for the Operators Union before retiring.

Erylon was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed gardening, watching college sports and attending air shows to see the Blue Angels. Surviving along with his wife, Marcella are four children, Robert McGirt (wife Margaret) of West Baden Springs, Angela Bolden (companion Earl Grady) of Clarks Hill, Chris McGirt (wife Tracy) of Lafayette and Reyna McGirt (fiance Nathan Chinn) of Clarks Hill; two sisters, Connie Adams of Scottsdale, AZ and Billie Emery of Clyde, OH; two brothers, Rudy McGirt of Clyde, OH and Pete Dayringer (wife Missy) of Waco, TX. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Darrick Bolden (companion Carolina Logan), Micheal Bolden (wife Casey), Caleb Bolden (wife Samantha) Keirsten Russell (fiance Phillip), Danielle, Abby and Jenna McGirt, Jayme Thompson, and Sophie Cox; and three great grandchildren and one on the way, Kaelynn Bolden, Jasper and Robyn Burks.

Erlyon was preceded in death by a brother, Larry McGirt and a sister, Veronica “Ronnie” Harvey. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Jeff Stedge officiating.
