Obituary for Esther Bishop Esther Bishop RACINE – Surrounded by her family, Esther (nee: Saavedra) Bishop, 93, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at her residence. She was born on July 7, 1924 in Texas, the daughter of the late Margarito and Cruz (nee: Gonsales) Saavedra. On June 19, 1948, Esther was united in marriage to Paul Bishop at Gospel Tabernacle Church.

Surviving are her children, Paul (Joanie) Bishop Jr., Helen (John) Reiser, Betty (Michael) Thibeau, Dennis (Sarah) Bishop, Connie Tekus, Peggy (Matt DaQuisto) Kaprelian, and Judy (Kenny) Sanchez; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Esther was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul on June 29, 2017; brothers, Mike Saavedra, Mickey Saavedra, Moses Saavedra, Frank Rodriquez, and John Rodriquez; sisters, Lupe Braun, Josie Beckett, Rachel Saavedra, and Rebecca Saavedra.

Funeral services for Esther will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday May 11, 2018 at 12 noon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 am until service time. Following services Esther will be laid to rest next to her husband Paul at West Lawn Memorial Park.
