Johnstown – Ethel May Schnellbach, 100, passed away Wednesday morning, December 12, 2018 in Johnstown, Colorado, where she made her home with her daughter, Lori Munholland. Ethel was born April 29, 1918 in Diamond, Ohio, a daughter of Perry and Ruth Davis Williams. She was raised in Diamond and lived in Youngstown, Ohio her adult life.

Ethel celebrated her 100th birthday this year in Colorado and was honored by her family and friends from all over the U.S. She was a wonderful wife, mother and caregiver to many family members. She was blessed to be able to call so many wonderful neighbors “family”.

She was known as a great cook and baker. Ethel was kind and loving to all who knew her. Ethel and Howard were charter members of Saint Luke Catholic Church in Boardman for many years and were involved in the start-up of the Happy Hearts Senior Club at the church.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard Leo Schnellbach, who passed away in 1988; sisters, Dorothy (Glen) McGowen, Betty (Leo) Gratton, Edith (Thomas) Bandy, brother, June and (Betty) Williams; son-in-law, Edward Munholland and dear friend Emma Lauer. Ethel leaves behind her son, Robert (Leah) Schnellbach; daughters, Joan (Rick) Collins, Lori Munholland and Susan (Dave) Schnellbach; ten grandchildren, Deanna (Todd) Skoglund, Lisa (Matt) Oles, Shari (Robert) Nixon, Trina (Brad) Bessinger, Jeff (Kay) Collins, Ed (Shelly) Munholland, Robert (Cindy) Schnellbach, Cristina Weyand, Nicholas (Heidi) Munholland, and Shelby Schnellbach; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was known to be “Best Gram Ever”.

She will be missed by all who knew her. A prayer service is scheduled for Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers with Deacon Paul Lisko officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday at the Lake Park Cemetery at 11:30 am.

Ethel’s family will receive guest Monday from 5-7 pm and Tuesday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. A breakfast reception will be held Tuesday from 9-10 am at the Davidson Becker Family Center. The family request in lieu of flowers to remember Ethel in your prayers that she will have peace and happiness with our heavenly father and all of those who have gone on before her.
