Obituary for Eugene Earle Thorn Eugene Earle Thorn, age 79 of Simpson, WV passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at River Oaks Nursing Home in Clarksburg, WV. He was born December 23, 1938 in Wendel, WV a son of the late Earle Eugene and Marie J. (Doyle) Thorn. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Fern (White) Thorn of Simpson; one son, Christopher “Shawn” Thorn of Grafton; one grandson, Hayden Wesley Thorn; one sister, Patricia Thorn Thompson of Newark, OH; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Kay Monohan and husband Robert of Princeton, WV; also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Eugene graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1956. He worked for Sterling Faucet Company in Reedsville then was a general manager for D&R Distributors petroleum company in Kingwood. He was a Lt.

Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol for over 65 years and was a member of AARP. He enjoyed his family, fishing, and camping. There will be no funeral home visitation and at Mr. Thorn’s request, he will be cremated.
