Obituary for Donald Eugene McDougal Donald Eugene McDougal, age 80 of Currey Road, Grafton, WV passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his residence with his wife and family by his side. He was born August 25, 1938 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late William Lloyd and Ruby Lee (Hawkins) McDougal. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years and his high school sweetheart, Betty Jane (Stevens) McDougal; three sons, William Mark McDougal and wife Kim of Currey Road, Grafton, Brad Lee McDougal and wife Debbie of Fairmont, and Steven Shawn McDougal and wife Amy also of Currey Road; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and wife Elena, Andy McDougal and wife Melissa, Tera Fetty and husband Philip, Jonathan McDougal, Craig McDougal and wife Megan, Don McDougal and wife Angie, and Shelby Wilmoth and husband Jeremy; twelve great-grandchildren, Breelin, Natalie, Haylee, McKaylee, Carder, Paisley, Ashlyn, Macy, Luke, Easton, Adalyn, and Lydia; one sister-in-law, Judith Compton and husband Warren, of Fairmont; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Donald was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene, who passed away in infancy, Maxine, and Christine; and two brothers, Kenney, and his twin brother, Ron. Don graduated from East Fairmont High School with the Class of 1957 then served in the US Marine Corps from 1957-1960.
He was a mechanic for Galis Brothers, FMC, and EIMCO Company in Fairmont for 30 years and then worked for five years at Precision Coil Company in Clarksburg. He was a member of the Grafton Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as a deacon and greeter. Don was a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club in Clarksburg.
He enjoyed his family, reading his Bible, and his church family. The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Monday, January 7th from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Randy Murphy and James Volpe officiating.
