Eugene’s Obituary A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino, VG officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph #2 Cemetery in Marksville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. Mr. Smith, age 80 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Hessmer Nursing Home. He was a foreman with the Louisiana Hoop Mill for 30 years and a carpenter for 12 years.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Ducote Smith; his second wife, Josephine Ducote Smith; a daughter, Sandra Mayeux; his parents, Joe and Clara St.Romain Smith; and a brother, J.C. Smith. Survivors include two sons, Steve Lemoine and wife Jan of Evergreen and Glenn Lemoine of Poland; a son-in-law, Charles Mayeux of Bunkie; two brothers, Elster Smith of Marksville and Lester Smith of Deville; two sisters, Una Dauzat of Marksville and Lucille Dupuy of Fifth Ward; his grandchildren, Michelle Mayeux Ferguson, Charles Mayeux, Lawrence Lemoine, Elizabeth Lavesphere, Jennifer Lemoine Ducote, and Lori Lemoine; 10 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
