Eugene P. Smolinski, age 88 years, died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday June 30, 2018 at Carriage House. He was born on November 9, 1929. Eugene proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

In July 1953, Eugene married Eva Marie Langton and she preceded him in death in 1977. He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish (Holy Trinity Church). Eugene retired as a Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force after 25 years of service and went on to retire from General Motors.

Surviving family members include his six children: Robert (Joyce), Kenneth (Stacey), David, Thomas, Joseph, and Cathryn (Kris) Johnson; six grandchildren; Sarah Smolinski, Matthew (Trisha) Smolinski, Kenny (Colette) Smolinski, Michael Smolinski, Amanda (Nick) Revette, and John- Michael Schmitz; several great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Smolinski and Monica Buda; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Marie, son Daniel and siblings, Frank, Chet, Ed, John and Ann Marie.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Corpus Christi Parish (Holy Trinity Church), 1008 S. Wenona, Bay City, MI. Fr. Robert J. Kelm will preside with Rite of Committal following at St. Patrick Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council.

Eugene will lie in state at the church Tuesday after 9:00 AM. Visiting hours with the family are at church only. Memorial contributions may be designated for the Alzheimers Association.
