Obituary of Eugene Stolarzyk Eugene Stolarzyk 1929 – 2018 Utica Mr. Eugene (Gene) Stolarzyk, 89, a lifelong area resident passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018. He was born in Utica on January 13, 1929 the son of Thomas J. And Karoline Stolarzyk and received his education in local schools attending M.V.C.C. and went on to Utica College obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Engineering.

Gene was employed for many years as an engineer with the General Electric Company in the Broad Street and French Road facilities, Utica as well as Schenectady until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. On November 6, 1948 he was united in marriage to Bernice Roback in Holy Trinity Church, a blessed and loving union for over sixty- two years, until her passing on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.

His survivors include his two daughters, Carol Conte, of Frankfort and Dale and her husband, Brian Hill, of Oriskany; a son and his wife, Thomas and Debra Stolarzyk, of Utica. Also surviving are his grand children, Carissa Conte and Michael Dunn, Carl (Boomer) Conte, Alicia Hill and Michael Wishart, Caitlin and her husband, Robert Eychner, Shelby Hill and Marcus Catalina, Matthew Turturo and Melissa Turturo, as well as his eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his great grandson Robert Eychner, Jr. Gene’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Elizabeth Medical Center, ICU and 3C for the wonderful care and compassion shown to him and his family during his illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Those who wish may call on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 1156 Lincoln Ave, Utica. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
