Eunice L “Rusty” (LeGrand) Brown 70, passed away suddenly on June 4th at Butler Memorial Hospital, three days after celebrating her 70th Birthday. Born in Butler, PA on June 1, 1948 to her late parents Henry (Red) LeGrand and Catherine (Kitty) Heasley LeGrand. She married the late Paul L. Brown on January 28, 1967.

They were married for 21 years and could always be seen at the local racetrack where Paul raced Coupe and Sprint cars for many years before he died in a car accident in 1988. Rusty had previously worked at the Butler Memorial Hospital in the Dispatch and Drug & Alcohol Departments and enjoyed seeing those familiar faces every time she was in the hospital for a “tune up”. She was very much a “survivor” having been in a horrific car accident in 1979 that left her with a severe leg injury that she had numerous surgeries on to repair and that she struggled with most of her life, she was a two time breast cancer survivor and had also undergone quadruple bi-pass surgery among other procedures and set backs in her life.

She was a loving and selfless person, always putting others needs before her own and always willing to lend a hand or words of encouragement to others. She was an amazing mother and grandmother and loved nothing more than spending time with her eight grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Finally out of pain and suffering she is now in the hands of God and together again with the love of her life, Paul.

Surviving are her 3 daughters, Melissa (Paul) Cirillo, Christina (Jeff) Dubyak and Rebecca (Robert) Salata, all of Butler. Her grandchildren: William, Lucas, Anthony, Logan, Angela, Landon, Jaxon and Kohl. 8 siblings: Lorraine (Ron) Cottage of Butler; Larry G. LeGrand, Sr. of Butler; Henry J. “Hank” (Barb) LeGrand of Renfrew; Beverly (Howard) Undercuffler of Fenelton; Bernice Meissner of Butler; Theresa Kepple of Butler; Dianne Neal of West Sunbury and Richard E. “Rick” (Lynn) LeGrand of Butler.

Many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband Paul Brown, who died April 7, 1988; she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Judy LeGrand; also 3 brothers-in-law: Robert Kepple, Robert Neal and Richard Meissner. Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 1:00 pm. , at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
