Barry E. Gannon, 74, of Butler passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler. Born July 1, 1944 in Slippery Rock, he was a son of the late Joseph and Alta McGarvey Gannon. He retired from Friedman,s Grocery store as a Manager following 30 plus years of service.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed the Pittsburgh sports teams, golfing and especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his three children: Gina (Robert) Rates of Smithfield, PA.

, Barry (Beth) Gannon of Altanta, GA. And Brent (Melissa Beeman) of Butler. Three grandchildren: Dalton and Sierra Rates and Brooks Gannon.

Two sisters, Beverly McCandless of Charlotte, NC. , and Nancy Merkle of Washington, PA. Numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Werner Gannon who passed away December 4, 2017. Two brothers, Bruce and Richard Gannon. A Memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday from the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001.
