Obituary for Evelyn Marie Meister Goldsboro, MD – Evelyn Marie Meister joined Don, her loving husband of 51 years, peacefully in heaven, surrounded by family at her home on July 25, 2018. She was 83. Born in Fair Lawn, NJ, she is a graduate of Fair Lawn High School, Fair Lawn, NJ and has lived in the Goldsboro area since 1969, when she moved from Howells, NY.

“Evie Darlin” was a homemaker, wife, mother of three, caretaker to her mother-in-law for 23 years, her son Karl for 35 years after a car accident left him paralyzed, and was able to take care of her husband at home until his death. Evelyn was a member of the New Life Wesleyan Church of Greensboro and the JOY Club of Greensboro Baptist Church. Mrs. Meister loved people.

She loved everyone through kindness, generosity, and always acceptant of and hopeful for visitors. Her smile and faith will live on forever. In addition to her parents, George and Agnes Naugle, she was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Violet DeYoung; her brother Roi Naugle; the love of her life and husband of 51 years, Donald Meister, and their son Karl Meister.

She is survived by her sister, Louise Brown of Milford, DE; two daughters, Donna Hutson (Jerry) of Henderson and Nancy Rampmeyer (Tom) of Trappe; three grandchildren, Kevin Hutson (Carrie) of Denton, Christina Hutson of Greensboro, Jason Carver (Amy Skinner) of Baltimore, and 8 great grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew. We also feel her caregiver Terry, Christina, Theresa, Faye and Fran as her family. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 31, 2018 at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A. , Greensboro, Maryland at 2: 00 PM with a visitation one hour prior.
