Obituary for William Priestly Porter, Sr. William “Bill” Priestly Porter, Sr. 85, of Greensboro, passed away on October 6, 2018 at UMSMC@Easton. Mr. Porter was born on February 18, 1933 in Goldsboro, Maryland to the late George and Mary Catherine Melvin Porter. He worked for 39 years as a manager for Greensboro Packing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Porter is preceded in death by his daughter Ruth Renee Porter, brother Tommy Porter and sister Shirley Porter. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Ruth A. Porter of Greensboro, one son, William “Petey” Porter, Jr of Goldsboro; daughters Shirley Eaton of Goldsboro, Kathy Whitson of Goldsboro and Margaret Buckle of Denton; brother George Cannon of Marydel, Delaware; sisters Joyce Cannon of Felton, Libby Tripp of Dover and Margaret Bell of Camden, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to visit on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro.
