Obituary for Evelyn Watson Evelyn “Cubbie” Watson, age 76 of Mesquite, TX, passed away June 10, 2018. She was born March 26, 1942, in Woodville, TX, to Percell C. and Falbia V. (Gibson) Durham. Evelyn enjoyed listening to music, singing, and cooking and had perfected her chocolate pie.

She loved to laugh and always had a smile on her face. She retired from food service in the Lufkin State School system. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, DeLeslyn Watson of Garland, TX; brothers, Herbert Durham and wife Marilyn of Cypress, TX, and C.A. “Butch/Bull” Durham and wife Connie of San Antonio, TX; sister, Betty Wood of Lufkin, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Ovie Watson in 2001, brother Fain Durham, sister Billie Geelan, and beloved dog Prissy. A memorial service to celebrate Evelyn’s life is being planned.
