Obituary for Wava Kathleen Holloway Wava Kathleen Holloway, 74, of Mesquite, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2018. Wava was born July 29, 1943, to Ivan and Wava Crittenden in Lansing, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather: Jack Cureton; brothers: Charles, Ike, Jack, Ed and Joe; husband: Joe Holloway; daughter: Elizabeth Greene; and grandson: Justin McCager; along with numerous pets.

Wava is survived by her brother: Richard Crittenden; sister: Sondra Gable; sisters-in-law: Ruth Crittenden, Shirley Crittenden, and Debbie Drake; numerous nieces and nephews; son: Shawn Holloway and daughter-in-law Renee; daughters: Leigh Ann Belk and son-in-law Larry, Shannon Richie and son-in-law Steve, and Malinda McKnight and son-in-law Chris; as well as her precious grandchildren: Rachel, Montana, Sierra, Ryan, Leah, Lacy, Kacy Jacob, Luke, Blake; and three great grandchildren. Wava was a simple woman with a strong belief in God, family and hard work. She was a proud military wife.

She raised five children, she was a girl scout leader and cub scout den mother. Wava enjoyed sewing, cooking and singing gospel songs while playing her organ. Wava loved having her family at home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Her crowning moment was when she became “Granny”. She loved each and every one of her grandchildren with all her heart and soul. She never missed an event or an opportunity to have them in her home.

Memorial services will be held 10:00am Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location. Following the service, please join the family for a continuation of the celebration of Wava’s life at Ken and Leah Comb’s home.
