Obituary for Sharon L. Denton Sharon L. Denton, a resident of Rockwall, TX, since 1974, passed away July 16, 2018, at the age of 72. She was born August 17, 1945, in Dallas, TX, to Oscar Oliver and Willie Mae (Gilbert) Speight. Sharon worked for Raytheon for 24 years as a Procurement Specialist.

She was full of life and her smile would light up a room. Encouraging and sweet, Sharon adored being a “Mommaw” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was best friends with her daughter, Christy. She was a very independent, kind-hearted, giving and organized person and was a teacher of many things.

Sharon could bake a mean chocolate pie, cherry cheese pie and pot roast. You could guarantee that she never left the house without her makeup on and her hair fixed just right. She had the most beautiful white hair and got compliments almost every single day from at least one person.

Sharon was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be tremendously missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Sharon is survived by her loving daughter: Christy Peoples and husband Deryl; granddaughter: Ashley Gandy and husband Jake; grandson: Taylor Gheen and wife Taryn; step grandchildren: Deryl Peoples, Jr., Jeniffer Davis and Ashley Cantrell; great-grandchildren: Case Gandy, Dylan Peoples, Nicolas Peoples, Jon Jon Peoples, Reagan Thomas, Caleb Peoples, Bryce Berry, and Brody Cantrell; and brother: Gene Speight and wife Sandy; along with a host of loving relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Charlotte Hyles.

Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Friday, July 20, 2018 at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
