Obituary for Emma Taylor Wade Emma Taylor Wade, age 64 of Garland, Texas, passed away July 17, 2018. She was born December 8, 1953, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Orville C. and Shirley (Morrissette) Taylor. While in Norfolk, Emma was married to Richard M. Wade on December 18, 1981.

Emma graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk with a degree in elementary education. She taught as a second-grade teacher for a few years, and then worked in secretarial and administrative positions in Norfolk and Chicago. She stopped working outside the home when their first son, Steve, was born.

A second son, Michael, was born three years later. As a stay-at-home mom, Emma threw herself into the great joy of her life, nurturing and rearing her sons. After moving to Garland, she worked as HR Records Coordinator for the City of Garland.

She was a member of All Saints Dallas, an Anglican congregation, and before that a member of Redeemer Bible Church in Dallas. Emma is survived by her husband of 36 years, Richard Wade of Garland, Texas; sons Stephen Murray Wade of Dallas, Texas, and Michael Taylor Wade of St. Paul, Minnesota; siblings Elizabeth McDaniel, Robert Taylor and Anne Stamper, all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, July 22, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 3701 Rowlett Rd. , Rowlett, TX 75088. The funeral service will be at 10 am Monday, July 23, at All Saints Dallas, 2733 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, TX 75219.

A reception at the church will follow immediately, and then burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 2500 State Hwy. 66 East, Rockwall, TX. Pastors Philip Jones and David Larlee will officiate.
