Obituary for Frank Floyd Kemmis “I am not afraid of death, but I don’t want to leave you”. Frank Floyd Kemmis spoke these words to his wife, Jane, and daughter, Barbara, too often during his long battle with kidney disease. He died peacefully on July 18, 2018, at the age of 74.

Frank was born September 10, 1943, in Lansing, MI, to Frank B. and Ann (Luby) Kemmis. He received his Master’s in Education and was a fifth grade teacher for Royse City ISD. Frank was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Greenville, MI, and later Our Savior Lutheran Church in Rockwall, TX.

He was also a member of the Lion’s Club in Michigan and the Friends of the Royse City Library. He was a man of faith who demonstrated his Christian values by encouraging others and speaking of his love of God. He loved fishing, a good joke and Michigan State University sports.

The darkest days of the year were those without a football game. Frank is survived by his loving wife: Jane Kemmis of Royse City, TX; daughter: Barbara Kemmis and wife Gina Medalle of Chicago, IL; and sister: Lina Harper and husband Homer of Glendale, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Frank E. Kemmis.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held 4:00pm, Wednesday August 8, 2018, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location followed by a light reception.
