Everett Reece Bishop of Fort Mill, 83, husband of Peggy Stanford Bishop, passed away on April 30, 2018 at WillowBrooke Court at Park Pointe Village in Rock Hill, SC. Everett was born on October 18, 1934 in Altavista, VA, the only child of Carl Layton Bishop and Artie Reece Bishop. After graduating from York HS and Clemson University (B.S., Electrical Engineering), he served in the US Army for six months, followed by 10 years in the Army Reserves.

He worked for General Electric in Waynesboro… Read More » and Charlottesville, VA; Wilmington and Charlotte, NC for 40 years as an engineer. An avid fisherman, he was active in the Waynesboro Trout Unlimited chapter. After retirement, Everett was active in the Fort Mill Lions Club, serving as treasurer for several years.

He also served in many capacities at St. John’s UMC in Fort Mill. Throughout his life, he greatly enjoyed Clemson football. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Carl Bishop (Cathy) of Ragley, LA; Candace Romero (Scott) of Welsh, LA; Susan Doucet (Wayne) of Iota, LA; Greg Bishop (Rose) of Hemet, CA; Stephen Middlekauff (Amy) of Fort Mill, SC; and Michael Bishop (Emilie) of Bellevue, WA; as well as ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Nicholas Bishop. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 3 at 3 PM at St. John’s UMC of Fort Mill, SC at 130 Tom Hall Street, officiated by The Rev. Karen Radcliff.

Visitation is 1-2:30 PM, before the service. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.
