Obituary for Ewell “Dean” Goyer Ewell “Dean” Goyer, age 89, of Laurel, passed away on December 27, 2018. Mr. Goyer was born on July 2, 1929 in Oklahoma. He worked as a corporate accountant for BP-Allied Chemical prior to his retirement.

He will be remembered as a loving son and brother, and superb father, husband, and grandfather. He was very happy to help anyone that needed it, very caring, and also helped to care for both his mother and his mother-in-law. Mr. Goyer served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Hempstead, TX and enjoyed bible study and reading his bible.

He will also be remembered for his love to talk and his great love for his “lap cat”, Okie. He was preceded in death by his parents, James “Buster” Goyer and Edith Agnes Thornton Goyer; brother, Denton Goyer; and son Daryl Goyer. Survivors include his wife Georgia Goyer of Laurel; daughter, Danette Chancellor (Lance) of Laurel; three brothers, Don Goyer of Antioch, CA, and Dale Goyer (Ola) and Jim Goyer (Bev) all of Oklahoma; sister, Doyne Dunlap (Bryan) of Texas; five grandchildren, Vanessa Goyer, Alexandria Goyer, Kelsi Hodge (Jabo), Daryn Chancellor, and Trevor Chancellor; two great grandchildren, Kaeson Walters and Kinsleigh Hodge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
