OBITUARY Faye Therese Catherine Novo August 19, 1935 – July 28, 2018 Faye was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and Godmother. She left this world for the greater life, the morning Saturday, July 28, 2018, with her nieces at her side. She was born on August 19, 1935 in Cottonport, LA, to Henry Edward and Evy Tassin Novo.

Faye graduated from Cottonport High School on May 23, 1953, as one of many salutatorians. At the age of 18, she moved to Baton Rouge, LA, and worked for Southern National Life Insurance Company for 20 years. She was employed at LSU and assisted in the opening and managing of the LSU Assembly Center, retiring in September 1998.

Faye bought her first house in that same week. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America (past Louisiana State Regent), Usher Society, Holy Name Society, Adoration Chapel Our Lady of Mercy Church. She was always very attached to church, solidarity, choir and helping a “friend” with catering.

She always had time on weekends for caring for her mother and father as well as babysitting and spoiling her nieces and nephews. Faye is survived by her nieces, Linda G. Polk (Randy), Claire Gremillion, Mona Gail Michot, Cindy S. Jennings, Karla S. Michot, Sandy M. Pace, Terrie M. Tarver (Louis), Barbara C. Michot, Lisa M. Landry and Francille Matassa; nephews, Kenneth J. St. Romain (Marie), Dennis St. Romain (Lois), Joey N. St. Romain (Sonja), Chris St. Romain, Bruce Novo (Rebecca), Tim Novo (Mary Alice), Jonathan Novo (Sherryl) and Randy Novo (Regina). Aunt Faye’s legacy also includes 18 great-nieces, 26 great-nephews, 25 great-great-nieces and 31 great-great-nephews.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Henry E. and Evy T. Novo; sisters, Alla Mae Gremillion and her husband, Riley, Helene Novo, Bertha St. Romain and her husband, Norris, and Evelyn Michot and her husband, Wyman; brother, Henry E. Novo and his wife, June; nephews, RJ Gremillion and his wife, Theresa, Wayne M. Michot, Troy Jennings, Frank O’Slovsky, Jr., Joe Pace and Michael Michot; nieces, Janice Faye Michot and Dana M. Michot. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. , Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM.

The Usher Society, Holy Name Society and Catholic Daughters of America will be reciting the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave. , Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, from 9:00AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM, celebrated by Fr.

Jeff Bayhi. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Faye’s Godchildren, Clay Polk, Stephen St. Romain and Bruce Novo.
