OBITUARY Ferris “Buck” M. Coplin September 16, 1928 – September 11, 2018 Ferris “Buck” Coplin, 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Macon Memorial Park Chapel. Burial will be private for family only and the family will greet friends following the service.

Rev. Jimmy Duke will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037 or Vineville United Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31204.

Mr. Coplin was born in Lanett, Alabama the son of the late Alma Brenda Maddux Coplin and Leonard Coplin and was preceded in death by a son, Hugh Jackson Coplin and sisters, Elaine C. Buttler Greene and Angely Cheek. He was a graduate of Lanett High School with honors and also Auburn University, receiving his BS Degree. Mr. Coplin was retired from the United States Air Force having served from 1955-1965 at Brookley AFB in Mobile, AL and from 1965-1985 at Robins AFB in Warner Robins.

Mr. Coplin was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where he served at Trustee and Council Chairman. He was a member of Middle and Central Georgia Men’s Golf Association, was a Cub Scout Master, an avid bridge player, and a member of The Heart of Georgia Emmaus Community and served a term as Chairman. Mr. Coplin is survived by his wife, Claudette J. Coplin; sons, Niel J. Coplin and Ferris J. Coplin (daughter-in-law, “Dawn” Tina); sister-in-law, Carol Hopper; brother-in-law, Curt Douglas; several nieces and nephews.
