Our loving mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2018. Age 89 years. She was born on July 30, 1929, daughter of the late Charles and Clara (Kleinfeld) Rose, in Bayport, Michigan.

Florence married Elmer O’Dell on December 23, 1950. He predeceased her on September 20, 1991. She was an original founder of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union while working for Dapper Do.

Florence later began driving bus for the Saginaw Transit System and then the Commission On Aging. She was an avid reader, enjoyed adult coloring books, sewing, crocheting, crafts, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. Florence will be missed by her children, Daniel (Pam) O’Dell, Gary O’Dell, Connie Mitas, Nancy Bickham, Peggy (Larry) Strudgeon, Timothy (Mary) O’Dell and Thomas (Mary) O’Dell; 20 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Francis Nicol and Barbara Gosselin; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her brothers, James Rose and Charles Rose, her sisters, Margaret Reed, Patricia Dudek and Clara O’Dell. Florence’s family would like to extend their appreciation to Covenant VNA and the nurses and staff of Covenant Healthcare-Cooper 3rd. Floor.

Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway. Pastor Ronald Sinclair will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
