Florence (Smolinski) Markowiak, age 98, of Toledo, passed away on July 14, 2018. She was born on August 4, 1919 to Stanley and Sophie (Murkowski) Smolinski in Toledo. Florence married Joseph Markowiak in 1940.

Florence worked part time for Gino’s Pizza, worked 18 years for Smith Cafeteria and prior to that worked at Electric Autolite. Florence was preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Joseph and daughter, Joanne Markowiak. She will be dearly missed by her niece Mary Hausman; nephew George (Jeanne) Uscilowski; cousin Jack (Gayle) Sparagowski; cousin-in-law Tom Markowiak; special God Child Angie and other special nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday July 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
