Samuel David Mann Samuel David Mann, age 79, of Sylvania Twp. died Monday July 9, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born on October 29, 1938 in Toledo to Maurice and Becke (Rogolsky) Mann.

A graduate of Woodward High School, Sam followed his father’s footsteps as a printer for 36 years with the Toledo Blade, retiring in 2000. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves. Sam served his apprenticeship with Toledo Printing and was a member of the International Typographical Union Local #63.

Other memberships include the Civil War Roundtable, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2332 Rossford Aerie and the Sylvania Lodge #1579 Loyal Order of the Moose. A gentle soul by nature, Sam was an enthusiastic conversationalist who was an avid reader focusing on historical non-fiction. He loved learning and traveling to Hawaii.

Surviving is his cherished companion, Diane Miller; his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Charlie Schott; cousins, Gerald Brandman, Janet Rogolsky, Elizabeth Rogolsky and Arlene Mann Handmaker and numerous other loving cousins. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. (419-535-5840).

Interment will follow at Beth Shalom Cemetery, Oregon, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Congregation B’Nai Israel or a charity of the donor’s choice. Donations may be made to: Congregation B’Nai Israel 6525 W. Sylvania Ave.
