Florine Harper, age 91, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday December 19, 2018 at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Harper was born on April 22, 1927 in Ambrose, Georgia the daughter of the late Willie Burl McLendon and Emma Carver McLendon. She worked in the Poultry Industry and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, John Edison Harper and two brothers, Junior McLendon and Carlos McLendon. Survivors include her daughter, Janice Harper Lewis of Douglas, GA; two sons, John H. Harper of Broxton, GA and Ronnie Harper of Douglas, GA; sister, Grace Moore of Callahan, FL; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 23, 2018 at 3:00pm at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

L. G. Aldridge and Rev. Gerald Gardner. Interment will follow at Purvis Cemetery, Ambrose, GA.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1pm until 3pm prior to the service. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www. simsfuneralhome.com.
