Foye Shirley Dooly Watkins, age 89 of Smyrna, formerly of Lewisburg, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Bethany Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Summerville, Georgia born September 28, 1929 daughter of Walter Franklin and Elsie Owens Dooly. She was a homemaker, loving wife of former preacher at Church Street Church of Christ, James Watkins, and warm and loving mother of their four children and all of their grandchildren.

She was a very faithful member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Faulkner and brother, Homer Dooly. She is survived by her husband of seventy years, James Watkins, Jr. of Smyrna, two sons, James W. Watkins, III “Bill” of Nashville, and Alan Watkins of Decatur, Alabama, two daughters, Teresa Mansfield of Smyrna, and Hope Koehler of Morgantown, West Virginia, one sister, Emma Warren of Summerville, Georgia, thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm and Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
