Frances G. Briggs, 89 of Cabot passed away on November 25, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot. Born May 19, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of Robert B. Gibson and Helen Sheets Gibson. Fran was a kindergarten and first grade teacher at Penn Elementary, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of Nixon U.M. Church. She was a former President of the Butler YWCA, former secretary of the Friends of the Saxonburg Area Library and the Saxonburg District Women’s Club. She enjoyed quilting, attending all her grandsons sporting events and traveling with friends.

Surviving are 2 sons, Robert A. (Kathie) Briggs of Saxonburg, Scott W. (Sue) Briggs of Valencia, her daughter, Barbara Briggs of Cabot, 5 grandchildren, Andrew (Dana) Briggs, Wes (Brooke) Briggs, Rob (Jenn) Briggs, Kristina (Ryan) Perry and Nick Briggs, 6 great-grandchildren, Rocco, Beau, Tori, Zoey, Isla and Brady and 1 nephew R. Byron Gibson, III, of Chesapeake, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Briggs on April 19, 2012 and 1 brother, Robert B. Gibson, Jr. Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, 3:00 – 6:00 pm at Fox Funeral Home, Inc., Saxonburg, PA. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 with the Rev.
