Frances I. Hanson Frances of Union Grove passed to the arms of Our Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the age of 93. She was born September 9, 1924 in the town of Garfield, Jackson County, Wisconsin to Emma (nee Aumann) and Arney Thompson. Her early life was spent in Garfield where she graduated from Garfield High School.

Frances was employed by Southern Colony as a Food Production Manager for 22 years. In her younger years she worked at some of Union Grove local establishments such as; Reyers Bakery, Nimos Shoe Shop and Cotton Cuties Clothing. Frances was a longtime active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Frances was active in her church; she was the past president of the Ladies Guild and served on the Casserole and Funeral Lunch Committees. Frances was a warm-spirited and faith filled woman. She enjoyed the simple things like, a picnic in the park, taking pictures, going up north to spend time with her mother.

More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her family. Five children were brought in to the world, with four still remaining: Marion (Willie) Rushford, Ken (Ellen) Hanson, Ron ( Lora Heinz) Hanson, Elaine Chaffee, a special friend of the family Kathy Hanson, grandchildren: David Cottingham, Kristina (Ricky) Johnson, Elizabeth (Jason) Peetz, Jennifer (Eric) Plitzvweit, Jarrod (Samantha) Hanson, Justin Hanson, Jacob Hanson, Molly (Jim Wermers) Hanson, Dale (Sylvia Smith) Hanson, Robert Hanson, Christopher Chaffee and Matthew Chaffee, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Archie, parents, a daughter Donna Gerke, infant sister Emelia , brother Floyd Thompson, sisters; Gertrude Shaw, Rachael Solum, Florence Gilliland, Margaret Eisenhart and Lenore Richards, 3 granddaughters; Hope Ann Cottingham, Julie Marie Hanson and Diana Gunderson.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Timber Ridge and Oak Ridge Care Center, Union Grove, for all their wonderful care and love given to mom. Family has suggested memorials be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Activities Fund for Timber Oaks and Oak Ridge Care Centers. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev.

David Ramirez officiating. Family and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Homes and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM, at CHURCH. Burial will take place at West Lawn Cemetery on Monday, April 16th at 1:00 PM.
