Carpenter, age 93, of Mauston, WI. passed away on May 26, 2019 at Mile Bluff Medical Center, Mauston. Francis was born in Mauston, WI on May 16, 1926, to Michael and Mary (Carroll) Carpenter.

Francis lived for a period of time in Tennessee where he worked as a city bus driver. Upon retiring he returned to the Mauston area. He loved playing Cribbage and he found great joy in farming.

Francis is survived by his five children; Ken (Susan) Carpenter, Patti (Rich) Shaw, Kathy Macans, Skip (Melissa) Carpenter and Amy (Gary) Gentry and six grandchildren; Scott, Greg, and Jeff Carpenter, Tony and Mike Macans, and Jake Gamble, six great grandchildren Ty, Ethan, Marcus, Chase, Brock and Lilah. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, who passed away in 2005, and his brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Crandall Funeral Home, Mauston, where friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
