Francis T. Geary ( Frank) passed away at home on Tuesday January 22, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Frank attended Our Lady of Good Counsel School, graduated from the High School of Machine and Metal Trades, then attended CUNY where he obtained his Masters in Teaching. Frank was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he served in Japan.

He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal as well as the Occupation of Japan Medal. He worked as a auto mechanic and graduated to service manager at various car dealerships in Brooklyn and Staten Island. He taught at McKee High School from 1978 and retired in 1991.

Frank was a man of many talents, he built cradles for each of his 7 children, he built his own furniture, he was a devoutly religious man and he demonstrated that devotion by his kindness and using his God given talents ; he constructed the Food Pantry Collection Bin at Holy Child Church, he built the Altar in the Adoration Chapel at Holy Child as well as the 9/11 Memorial Pulpit. He also constructed Altars for St. Teresa of Avila Church and Convent, the Convent of the Sacred Heart, St. Joseph’s Church and for Stella Maris High School. In addition to his love of woodworking, carpentry and mechanics Frank was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating.

His greatest joy however, was found being with his 18 grandchildren and his 8 great grandchildren. Frank taught CCD at Holy Child for 15 years and volunteered at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home for 20 years where he could often be found calling Bingo for the residents. His loving wife Agnes pre deceased him in May of 2017.

He is survived by his loving children Joseph, Frank, Maryann Carstensen, Joan Andrews ,Donald, Kathleen Maderia and Maureen Hourican along with his 18 Grandchildren and his 8 great grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc. 28 Eltingville Blvd. Staten Island NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Child. After Mass Frank will be laid to rest alongside his beloved Agnes in Resurrection Cemetery with Military Honors.
