The legacy of Francisco Mariscal will be passed down for generations to come. Francisco was born on October 17, 1934 to Pablo and Eleuteria Mariscal. At the age of seven he quit school to work the family farm and help provide for his family.

At fourteen, he bravely left his family and his country with another family member to pick crops in the United States. For many years he rode the train and traveled all over the United States picking crops and sending money home to help his family. He later settled in Eagle Pass, Texas and met the love of his life, Alicia.

They loved each other dearly as they lived life together for fifty years. As their children were growing up, Francisco would study reading and writing with them and he taught himself with the help of his kids to read and write. Education was so important to Francisco so he was so proud that all of his children were educated.

In the 1970’s, Francisco, determined to make a better life for his family, moved to Dallas, Texas to enter the construction field. He was gifted at masonry and worked in the commercial construction industry until his retirement. After retirement, he didn’t slow down.

His children would look up and he would be trimming their hedges or rebuilding something. Francisco was extremely caring and had many friends. He loved taking his family to the Texas Coast on vacation to fish and enjoy the ocean.

One of the biggest joys in his life was serving as a Jehovahs Witness. He volunteered his time to help many to learn bible truths. He loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.

Three years ago he bravely began fighting cancer. Even at his advanced age he out lived everyone who started the fight with him. During those three years, many memories were made and he and Alicia were able to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Francisco passed away August 30, 2018 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Francisco Mariscal leaves behind his wife, Alicia Mariscal; daughter, Maria Villafana; son, Alfredo Mariscal and his wife Veronica; son, Francisco Javier Mariscal and his wife Blanca; son, Carlos Mariscal and his wife Brenda; Alicia Mariscal and Daisy M. Perez; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Francisco was brave, kind, hard-working and loving and will truly be missed.
