EDGERTON/ MILTON— Frank Donovan Jameson, age 97, of Edgerton, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Home, Union Grove. He was born in Gays Mills on Dec.
9, 1920, the son of Frank and Alma (Mitchell) Jameson. During the Great Depression Frank left home to ride the freight trains. His endeavors lead to many interesting experiences along the way, including finding a way to survive.

Frank proudly served as a Mortar Section Leader Staff Sergeant in the US Army from 1942 to 1945 in the European African Theater of Operations with the 95th Division 377th Regiment.
He was awarded numerous awards for his service including the Bronze Star. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Frank married Lois Mae Higham on July 10, 1945. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2002.
He had several jobs through the years but his favorites were working for Foster Insulation and the Larson Canning Factory. In his younger years Frank belonged to Willerup Methodist Church and later Grace Baptist Church. He volunteered at the Food Pantries and also gave away many coats to the under-privileged and served as a mentor to numerous teenagers.
Dad was saved and in now with our Lord and Savior in Heaven. In his spare time, he enjoyed raising apple trees, putting together puzzles, reading and watching Western movies, especially with his favorite actor, John Wayne! He is survived by his children: Jo Anne Dyer of Milton, Darlene Jameson of Bangor, WI, Pastor Jonathan (Linda) Jameson of Kenosha, Alfred (Susan) Jameson of Cambridge, Mary (Robert) Gagner of Sparta and David (Kathy) Jameson of Cambridge; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Jameson; and a brother, Scott (Pam) Jameson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; an infant son, Frank Donovan Jameson Jr.; 2 grandsons, John Warren and Andrew Dyer; and 6 siblings: Ruth Oppriecht, Joyce Haggerty, Betty King, John Jameson, Douglas Jameson, and Nancy Piehl. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at the APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION, 315 Lord St. (Hwy 51) Edgerton, with Pastor Chuck Shaw officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Busseyville Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Utica Christian School.
