LOWVILLE – Frank J. Murphy , 87, passed away Saturday morning, June 2, 2018 at his home, under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Iseneker Funeral Home Inc with Rev. Mr. Tom Yousey, officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery. A gathering at the Marine Corps League Det. #754, 7429 State Route 12, Lowville, will immediately follow the burial.

Any food donations may be taken directly to the Marine Corps League on Wednesday, June 6, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Calling hours will be held from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice P.O. Box 266 Lowville, NY 13367 or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 98018 Washington, DC 20090-8018. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, JoAnne; 4 children, Alan Murphy of Brewerton, Michael Murphy of Constantia, Randall Murphy of Adams Center, Sue Anne (Douglas) Boshart of Calcium; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Barbara Murphy of Brewerton; a sister-in-law, Arlene Murphy of Carthage; two brothers-in-law, John Terrillion of Lowville and Robert Sullivan of Copenhagen; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Linda Murphy; 4 brothers, Eugene, Niles, Jack, and Donald Murphy; 4 sisters, Shirley Terrillion , Joan Sullivan, Edna Murphy, and Diane Perrigo. Frank was born March 24, 1931 in Glenfield, a son of the late Alexander and Grace Jamieson Murphy. He attended country school in Glenfield and Lowville Academy High School .

He was drafted and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. On August 15, 1953, Frank married JoAnne Hill at the Methodist Church in Watson with Rev. Thomas Williams, officiating.

He was a partner in BMW Plumbing in Cicero, NY for many years. In 1981 with his family, he moved to Stillwater and in 1989 they moved to their current residence in Lowville. He was a life member of the Marine Corps League Det.

# 754 and BPOE #1605, Lowville Elk’s Lodge. Frank was an avid woodsman and loved hunting. He enjoyed tapping trees and making maple syrup.
