Freda’s Obituary Freda Loretta Sims, 81, of Maidsville, better known as ‘Nanny’ to her family, entered eternal life on Friday March 15, 2019 at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born February 16, 1938 in Morgantown, daughter to Eugene and Amy Price Sims. Nanny worked for more than 33 years as a cook at various dormitories for WVU.

She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Other hobbies included crafting, embroidery, reading and watching crime dramas. She faithfully attended the Mt.

Calvary Assembly of God in Westover. Nanny is survived by her daughter Darcus Crawford of Maidsville; three grandsons, Jeremy Crawford and wife Cindy, Adam Crawford and wife Kayla all of Westover and Robert Crawford and wife Julie of Youngsville, NC. Also surviving are her two great grandchildren, which brought her so much joy, Jacob Crawford and Brynlee Mae Crawford both of home; two brothers, Robert Sims and wife Patricia of Columbus, OH, Larry Sims and wife Roseanne of Ft.

Ashby, WV and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 2pm until 6pm and again on Monday from 10am until time of services at 11am with Pastor Johnny Whitehair officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
