Freddie Lee Julian, Jr February 18, 1977 – May 20, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Freddie Lee “JR” Julian, Jr., 42, Hampton, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Born February 18, 1977 in Banner Elk, North Carolina, he had lived his entire life in Carter County. He was a welder.

JR was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Robert C. and Florence B. Miller Julian and cousin Jonathan G. Palmer who passed May 13, 2019. Survivors include his father Freddy Sr.; his sister Windy Williams and her husband Chris; his niece Harley Williams; surrogate mother Judy Rogers; son Joel Julian and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services to celebrate the life of JR Julian will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel beginning at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service.

Reverend Troy Davis will be officiating. The eulogy will be given by his father, Freddie Sr., and sister, Windy along with dear family friend, Lucas Andrews. Graveside services will be on Friday May 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Cemetery in the Crabtree community.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Dugger, Chris Williams, Robbie Julian, Chris Julian, Jason Julian, Josh Whitehead, Casey Burgess, Scott Ashley, and Chris Murden. All active pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. on Friday. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Blevins, Grady Hill, Steve Lyle, Warren Tipton, Troy and Linda Brown, Brandy Taylor-Torbett, Dale Hicks, Harold Morrell, and all of Freddy Sr.’s boys.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Johnson City Medical Center especially those in the 2900 wing of ICU. They would also like to thank Troy and Kelly Davis, the Carter County Health Department, Carter County Rescue Squad, the guards and boys at the Carter County Work Camp, and everyone at TCAT and Sycamore Springs Assisted Living Community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of JR to the funeral home to help with expenses.
