In loving memory of Mrs. Free Love Cutter Pride. On April 8th, 1915, Mrs. Pride was born to Frank and Ella Mae Cooper Cutter. Sister Free Love Pride was married to the Late Deacon Lester Pride, and from this union, one daughter, La Lang.

In 1932 she graduated from Chisholm High. She then furthered her education, receiving a bachelor’s degree in education from Alabama State Teachers College in 1940. She was employed as Chief Aeronautic Mechanic for the Tuskegee Airmen in 1943, and taught more than 30 years in the field of education in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.

For more than 75 years, she was an active member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher and served on Mission and Deaconess Ministries, as well as sang in the adult choir for over 65 years.

In the community, she was a member of the Westside Retirees, the Community Choir and an active member of the NAACP. She leaves to always cherish the happy and joyful moments, as well as her teachings, to her loving, and caring daughter; La Lang Pride, New Smyrna Beach, FL; grandson, La Scandan Pride (Rebecca); great grandsons, Landan and Trevon; and great granddaughter Teanna, Middleburg, FL; Pinkie Green, Atlanta, GA; Eugene Slaton (Eliza), New Smyrna Beach, FL; Corley Fletcher, Miami, FL; Pastor Rosa McLane and The Rev. Ivory Jones, Fort Lauderdale, FL; goddaughter, Shirley Crump, Detroit, MI; and a host of relatives and friends.

There will be no public viewing. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, in New Smyrna Beach, with The Reverend Dr. Douglas A. Hamilton officiating.
