Mrs. Gail’s Obituary Funeral services for Mrs. Gail Dorothy Wilbor 73, of Killeen will be held Friday, February 8, 2019, 9:00 a.m., at Anderson Chapel AME Church in Killeen, TX. Burial will follow service at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, 6:00-8:00p.m. at Chisolm’s Family Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen, TX.

Mrs. Wilbor passed away January 29, 2019, in Killeen. Gail Politte-Wilbor was born on September 22, 1945, in Charleston, SC to Patrick Messam and Mary Myers. In 1963, she graduated from Washington Irvin High School in New York.

Afterwards, she attended Bronx Community College, married Earnest Politte and graduated with a degree in Nursing. She was employed with the United States Army Hospital in Charleston, SC and retired from Darnell Army Hospital in Fort Hood, TX. Gail lived in the Central Texas area since 1980, where she met and married Primes Wilbor in January 1986.

She was a present member of Anderson Chapel A.M.E. Church in Killeen, TX and served on the Usher Board II and Nurses Board. Gail was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to shop and watch her grandchildren play sports whenever possible. When she was not in the stores, you can believe she was at the gym or in the nail salon.

She is preceded in death by her husband Primes Wilbor, her father Patrick Messam Sr., brothers Harold Lee Myers, Bernard Myers, and Patrick Messam Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Stefany K. Politte and Sonja E. Hibbler, both of Killeen, TX; mother Mary Myers Messam of Charleston, SC; brothers, William Messam of New York, Bobby Messam (Mary) of New York and Steven Messam (Vinita) of Maryland; sister, Ann E. Morrison (Charles) of New York; two grandchildren, De’Lahna Johnson and Iyahna Hibbler, both of Killeen, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
