Garry William Souders, lifelong Shawnee area resident, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home in Shawnee at the age of 71. Garry was born October 22, 1947 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Delbert James “Buck” and Wanda Ilene (Yoder) Souders. He enlisted in the United States Navy on May 12, 1967 and received an honorable discharge on August 10, 1970.

Garry married Carol Souders on August 8, 1967 in Shawnee and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2016. He later married Mary Joanna (Kegley) and she survives him of the home. Garry was a Chief Safety Officer at Tinker Field for many years.

Garry is also survived by his children, Garrson Souders, Jeremy Souders, Aaron Souders. John Souders and Juliette Souders; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Church of God in Shawnee.

Military honors will be rendered by the US Navy Honor Guard.
