Gary Allen Robertson, 52, of Des Moines passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Gary was born in Peoria, Illinois on April 26, 1966 to James and Joyce (Metz) Robertson.

Gary became part of the management team and worked at various hotel and specialized in opening and managing new hotels across Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, and Nebraska. Gary loved his daughter, granddaughter, his entire family, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He cherished his family time and was a wonderful uncle.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his daughter Shelbi (Chris Kauer) Robertson of Des Moines, IA; granddaughter Kapri Kunkel; father James Robertson of Morton, IL; siblings Michael (Theresa) Robertson of Quasqueton, IA, and Sue (Pieter) Stoutenborough of Morton, IL; nieces Shannon (Sam) Taylor of UK, and Alyssa (Nick) Ciesielski of Independence, IA; nephews Gabe Robertson of Waterloo, IA, and Austin Stoutenborough of Des Moines, IA; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Gary was preceded in death by his mother Joyce. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Gary’s name.

Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with Gary’s cremation care.
