Obituary for Gary David Swanger Gary David Swanger of Moore, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at the age of 70. Gary was a remarkable Christian man who loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member at Taylors First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Life Group Leader of Co-Ed 17.

He graduated from Charleston Southern University and worked for the J.M. Tull Metals Company for thirty years. He was a founder and co-owner of Carolina Metal Supply in Duncan, SC. Mr. Swanger was born on February 3, 1948 to the late Thomas and Dortha Swanger in Waynesville, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Stephanie Shull Swanger; children Michael and wife Becky of Knoxville, TN; Jason and wife Kelly of Spartanburg, SC; Stephen and wife Alex of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Ethan, Samuel, Averie, Adah, Reagan and Sydney; sister Brenda Cleveland of Fountain Inn, SC; and close family friend Bill Knapp. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Jerry Long.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary. A graveside service for family and friends will be held immediately following the service at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Greenville, SC. The family is at the home.
