Obituary for Gary L. Stauffer Gary L. Stauffer, age 82, of Cary, passed away June 13, 2018 at Good Shepherd Hospital. He was born December 9, 1935 in Peoria, IL, the son of Orrin and Geraldine Stauffer. Gary is survived by his wife Mary Kay (Smith) Stauffer whom he married October 22, 1960 in Charleston, MO.

He is also survived by his children: Michael (Melodie) Stauffer, Patrick Stauffer, Scott (Beth) Stauffer, David (Erin) Stauffer and Rick (Kristy) Stauffer, his grandchildren: Caleb, Seth, Luke, Alysse, Gregory, Samantha, Jake, Hope and Lillian, his brothers: Ron Stauffer and Bob Stauffer, as well as many nieces and nephews. Gary worked for the Village of Cary for 40 years. He was a policeman for 10 years and then worked for the village and retired as Superintendent of Public Works, while also serving as Civil Defense Director.

He also was a member of the Cary Fire Protection District for 25 years serving as a fireman and paramedic. There will be a visitation for Gary on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM and concluding with a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the Cary Firefighters Association.
