Gary was born on March 2, 1959 in Albuquerque New Mexico. Preceded in death by his parents Bernie and Doris Giron (Sam).

Gary is a member of the Yerington Paiute Tribe. He is survived by his daughter Sharon Gomez, son Marques Giron, and grandchildren Louie, Issic, Alanna, Micah, and Landon. Siblings Vince Giron (Karen), Martha Landa (Juvenal), Yolanda Bengochia (Tony), and Timothy Giron; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary made his Professional Boxing debut as a Super Welterweight on April 21, 1979 and as Southpaw he had a knockout rate of 60%. Gary’s professional record was 18 and 7, he ended his career with a Win on November 29, 1982 with a technical knockout in 3 rounds. Gary lived many years in Yerington Nevada as he enjoyed taking long walks, shadow boxing, having small talk with family and visitors in his home, and often keeping track of his children and grandchildren’s activities.

He also loved watching TV and his beloved San Francisco Giants. He did say that he hopes the Giants turn around their awful 2018 season. Services will be held on January 12, 2019, 11:00 am at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home located at 25 HWY 208 Yerington NV.

Officiating is Mr. Joseph Lent. Following the celebration of life a pot luck will be held at the Yerington Paiute Community Center located at 171 Campbell Lane in Yerington NV. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guest book at www.
