Obituary for Gayle B. Barber Gayle Barber, age 80, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Gayle was born March 20, 1938, in Ashland City, Tennessee, to the late Henry F. Batts, Sr, and Salome Smith Batts Sanders. She was a graduate of CCHS Class of 1956.

She was a lifelong member of the Cheap Hill Church of Christ and worked and retired from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services. Gayle was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, James S. Batts.

She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Tommy Barber; son, Tony Barber; daughter, Kim (Sam) Berry; brother, H.F. (Glenda) Batts, Jr.; sisters, Mary Jo Jackson, Ann M. (Jim) Patterson, and Hope E. Duke; grandchildren, Antonia (Greg) Wagner, Logan Barber, Aletia Berry and Callie Berry. A Celebration of Gayle’s life will be Sunday, July 15, 2018, at 3pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Gaw officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, July 15, 2018, from 12noon until service hour of 3pm.
