Geneva Alice Haas Keerps, 92, of Marietta, passed away at her home on Jan. 2, 2019. She was born May 11, 1926 in Marietta to John Thomas and Cora Miller Haas.

She was a graduate of Marietta High School with the class of 1944. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for the family business Marietta Roofing and Spouting. She enjoyed bowling (rolled a perfect 300 game) ceramics, and supporting her children and grandchildren in their many activities.

When she found out the Marietta Armory was going to be torn down she was instrumental in organizing CAPS, a local group whose purpose was to save the Armory. She was a Ladies Auxiliary member of the VFW and a long time member of the Gilman United Methodist Church. On May 11, 1946 she married the love of her life Floyd M. Keerps.

They had just celebrated their 72ndCristmas Holiday together. He survives with their children Floyd D. (Patricia), Daniel (Ellen) and Bonnie Rake. Grandchildren Lori, Mark and Eric Keerps, Nicholas and Vanessa Rake, and Joseph, Thomas and James Keerps.

Great grandchildren Danielle Keerps and Bryson Keerps. Also surviving sister-in-law Wanda Phillips. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 11 brothers and sisters: Bernard Haas, Ralph Haas, Norman Haas, Kathryn Hupp, Dorothy Miller, Donald Haas, Dale Haas, Elizabeth Haas, Josephine Holland, Edward Haas and Berneda Eichhorn.

Also her in-laws Charles and Eva Keerps, brothers-in-law Robert and Leon and sister-in-law Ethel “Kate” Hinzman. Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home – East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt.

7, Marietta 45750. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial, East Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marietta Community Food Pantry, 318 Front St., Marietta, OH 45750.
